I Remember
I’m lying on my bed…unable to sleep.
I think of the things people forget- I remember the way you held me- the way your deep brown eyes rested on me. I remember you.
I remember the way your lips felt- the way your hand interlocked with mine- the way we sat in the moonlight, just looking at the stars. I remember you.
I remember the day you died- how you died- why you died. You took that bullet for me- I remember the peace I saw in your eyes, as if you were just resting- I remember your last words “I love you.”
I remember you.
