His View
From where he sat,
He could view the world
From another’s eyes.
But he closed his eyes
Turned away
Not wishing to see demise
From his shoes
He could walk
On another’s forgotten soul
But he refused to move
Stood in his life
In fear of losing careful control
He refused to watch,
He refused to walk
But through his perfect measured life
But unbeknown to him
He lost all love
By saving himself from strife
