Upside Down
I’m a complex girl
A girl of way too many words
I complicate things
Way more than they’re worth
You walked up in your black and white flannel
Lookin like some kind of kid
Turns out that you were selling at
way more than I could bid
And I got the money now
But you’ve been bought somehow
Even though you annoy me
I find myself entranced
It’s impossible to not love you
I told you that
I wish you’d said something back
Your hurricane came in
And swept my white sand round
He tossed the seas and blew the wind
And took away my crown.
Our island was turned
Upside down.
