Losing State
I couldn’t believe it. After all that time, all that effort, we had lost. The cause of this tragedy was a single goal. A single second had decided our future, and it decided that our season was over. I stood up and slowly skated towards our bench. Behind me, I could hear the banging of the glass, the cheers of the opposing fans, the excitement of the opposing players. All I could do was look at the ice and glide towards my teammates. For a short time, I felt nothing. Then I felt the hugs of my teammates and tears began streaking down my face.
