Rosebud
I cup the rosebud
in my open palm
so fragile
so perfect
a world unfolding
a galaxy spinning
forever
in a flower
eternity
brushing
my fingers
I unchained it
from a thorny vine
I snapped it
from the rush of life
from earth’s pounding heart
It will never blossom
It will never bloom
Hope in darkness
Words in silence
Life in death
A rosebud
A rosebud
Life in death
Words in silence
Hope in darkness
It will never bloom
It will never blossom
From earth’s pounding heart
From the rush of life
I snapped it
From a thorny vine
I unchained it
My fingers
brushing
eternity
In a flower
forever
a galaxy spinning
a world unfolding
so perfect
so fragile
In my open palm
I cup the rosebud

This is a reverso poem, a form of poetry where the lines of the poem can be reversed and still make sense both ways.
