Another Day
When the audience finds a new fascination,
And the heavy oak door slowly creaks closed,
My rhythmic fingerprint reverberates off empty walls…
But my soul still finds peace and compassion.
My perpetually developing dictionary upstairs
Has the definition,
And appropriate experience,
Of all emotions documented from my first gasp
To my present position.
However, the sensations created in the depths of a being,
When it has encountered the spirit
Of unparalleled power and warmth,
Do not possess finite explanations.
When darkness blankets my eyes,
And the turbulent waters shake my concentration,
The revolving beacon guides me to shore.
When the daylight is blinding,
And the path is blurred,
The passionate energy is the hand
That pulls me in the direction of the refreshing shade
Created by the pillars’ tender embrace.
As the eyes of this existence
Begin to droop with exhaustion
There is no outlet to foretell what will happen with our next step.
All that is certain
Is that there
Will
Be
Another day
And we will not be alone.
