We need change

Being stuck in our time

Looking on the news, seeing all this crime

All the pieces broken on the floor
Creeping through the cracks and into this war
Lying in their faces
In and out, people acting like we are lost cases

Veering in every direction
Everything telling us to restraint, but we want to fight back
Sorry for trying, but we are getting attacked
Moments in these times are harsh
All of us getting squashed
Trying to get up from the things they tell us
They try to discuss
Everything they’ve done, every shot that rings out

They look for someone to blame
Right, because its us

Movements all over

Death on the streets

Blood as the new paint

Different color, different race

It is like we are being brought into a chase

A chase that never ends

They “try” not to offend

I know that me and you have never been the same

We never will be and thats alright

But the people in this world seem to not know wrong from right

It’s like people in this world are players for a game

Some win and some lose but no one is to blame

People are hurt, but i guess its part of the fun

Theres no time to hide so they make us run

Run away from the cruelness

Run away from the darkness

Theres no one to save us

They want us to lose hope

We must take a stand and trust

We can’t just stand around and mope

We should fight back

We shouldn’t lose track

Track of the goals we make

The side we take

And the cycles we break

Even if the lights flicker out

We keep walking

Just take a step

But we can’t just accept

Their rules their laws

The ones that bring us down

Down to the bottom

Bottom of a hole, a ditch

But thats life for you

It always disappoints

But its nothing new

There is no point

No point to bring it up or to say a thing

But we still should fight back

We just need one chance

One chance to change

I originally wrote this piece when the whole BLM movement started but I still think it can be applied today and even in the future because no matter how much we try there will always be another problem or issue because of discrimination.
