Less homes
Sleeping in the street
No one thinks twice about me
They see me as dirty and unclean
I just am in desperate need
Of food, water, shelter,
All of these being basic human needs
They seem me on the street with my cardboard sign
Thinking i’m just pretending
So they yell slurs as they zoom away
I am told to go stay in shelters
But I don’t think they realize the dangers.
So I stay in nature's domain
Barely able to afford a bottle of water
I wait here as time passes on
As the world forgets about me
I lay my head on the park bench
And drift into sleep.
