How I see Mi Amor
He is the flickering street light during spring
He is the sound of an untuned guitar
He is the old mall downtown
He is the fraying flannel from my father’s childhood
He is the smell of crisp nighttime air during autumn
He is the sapphire blue sky during June
He is the dark orange flower my grandma grows
He is the rusted ‘72 ford 250 that I eye while driving down the highway
He is the abandoned trailer I played in as a child
He is Mi Amor
Mi Amor
He is sneaking out to a house I’ve never been to at 2 am in June
He is the old tires sitting on the bike trail
He is the park from my childhood
He is the dusky look the sky gives you before it fully relinquishes its space to the moon and stars
He is the spruce tree that grew big and tall
He is a newly hatched turtle buried in the sand
He is the golden wheat field you see in your dreams
He is the energetic beagle you see running through your neighborhood
He is the calming sound of crickets chirping and birds singing in the morning.
He is Mi Amor

I had written this while in the midst of a relationship. This relationship has long since ended but I will never forget how I felt about him while writing this.
