Walls Fall
Watching them just makes it harder.
Their shadows stretch away unseen,
Keeping me within their border.
Their blank faces seem to gleam.
You push me hard and here I stumble,
Fetching up against their bricky sides.
I immediately back away and crumble,
Watching them look towards me like the tide.
They’re much more crushing than they seem,
Their unseen pressure constantly boring down on me.
I try to run but cannot go far,
For these evil boundaries block my open door.
They’re crashing down and falling in bliss,
Taking me far with them into the abyss.
They’re huge and heavy and way too close,
These walls, those walls,
I’m flattened by their falls.

The pressure of expectations are unrelenting, like the weight of brick walls as they fall.
