In My Dreams
Closing my eyes
I willingly drift
Into the land
Of my subconscious mind
What will happen there?
I do not dare
To begin to dream
But maybe I will visit a king
Or possibly ride a wild train
After dissecting a human brain,
Although I’d like to see
A very ancient tree
I do not know
Where I will go,
But I just might ride a steed
Of a particular breed
And fight a dragon
While chasing a wagon.
Princesses and knights, kings and queens
Who all will I see in this dream?
Will I visit a land
With a touring band,
Or swim in the ocean
Along with a dolphin
Or slay a beast
Eating the yeast,
Will I visit a magician
Who refuses to listen?
I will just make a mess
If I continue to guess.
So until my dreams cease
I won’t return to peace
