summer flew by
september's around the corner
and it feels like summer is over
the temperature hasn't changed
yet somehow i feel colder
summer's flying by
i can feel it every night
and the light
it carries with it
is passing with the time
and soon the moon will climb
more than the sun will shine
and the flowers will die
replaced by a blanket of white
summer will get smaller and farther
until i forget what it felt like
the days become harder and darker
until spring melts the ice
but by that time
it'll be too late
i'll be too winter numb
to feel summer great
i'll reminisce
about summer's good times
as i try
to revive
the part of me that died
when summer flew by.
