When we were youngs’

we prayed for protection from the World,

Soft pure wording caress our innocent tongues

But the World haunted us,

the one we tried to escape

making us into what the young could not trust

A meadow of forbidden fruit was our treat

honey dripped into our mouths

and the forbidden was our sweet

And the World seeped into our blood more and more with every bite

we tried to hold onto our innocent light

So when our two hands could join together

in unity to pray: “forgive us!”

our faithfulness: weighing a bare feather

and good in hearts: scattered ours like mined dust

Now: aged, our faults to sure protect our youth

when once-

we were young, praying: our hearts held truth.

The World defeated us-and to it we surrender,

and the youngs’ pray for protection from us-

with their hearts tender.

This is my favorite piece of work/poem i've written so far. The message I strive to achieve with this is that when we are young we pray to God for protection and safety, we fear the World. But as we get older, or in my case, we start to pray for forgiveness. It's deep for sure, LOL.
