in this lonely town,
all she tastes is metal and salt.
she begrudgingly proceeds
with a head full of heartache

shes bathing in yellow and blue
sipping on reoccurring fears.
she listens to her life
as it passes her by,
with no reason or rhyme.
the smell of lust is thick in the air
getting tangled in the grooves of her lungs.
making them ache and yearn for more.
she watches the seconds tick by and flicks them away
without a care in the world.
she feels fire beneath her.
in front of her.
on top of her.
burning her soul.
choking her life and all she can think of is that time.
but no one will ever understand.
no one did.
and no one ever will.
and now shes angry.
angry at God.
angry at the world.
at everything.
she lets ice pierce her heart and freeze her feelings.
she doesn't want to move.
and all she can think of is this time.
the time shes stuck in.
and knows it will always be there.
it will never go away.
not in days, not in weeks, nor years.
no time at all.
only in dreams. that is where she escapes.
even in the darkest nightmare she escapes.
because its nothing like reality. not at all.
and she runs. then stands still.
bolts her body to the ground saying that's where she ought to be.
and no one understands.
NO ONE! she screams to the world.
fists clenched. muscles tense. eyes closed tightly.
she sucks in one last breath and whispers in his ear.
