Be Like Mike
The first time I played
Basketball I was ten years old
What got my spark
Was my dad said I was too
Bad to start as the words poured out
I did not care what was said
I ignored what I heard
As went to the court to practice
All I did was miss I felt his words
In every shoot I took he had
Me shook I thought will
I ever get his word out
My head but instead I
Said this will not stop me
For my last name is Sandbothe
And we don't quit
So as I regained the will to play
I was prepared to make my dad pay
So as I was practicing my focus
Could not be broken like a bear
Hunting a deer
I still had a little fear of failing
But would not let that stop me from
Achieving my goals
As the days went by I progressed
If my ball could have talked
It would have said
“He has become better that what he expected “
Every day my goal was to
Blast the basketball in the basket
And after years of practicing
I am at my best basketball performance ever
Now every day I try to be like Mike.
