His relationship—
The rhythm of it,
In some ways,
As if the shape
He had all along,
Was in reality a dodecahedron—
More complicated to measure.
Since their relationship,
Their conversations,
[Being] intimate and more mundane,
Both of them were uncertain.
Such insecurities and exposure…
Holding the door open,
Was a form of grifting
[And] was singular to the point of being delusional.
He would be hurt again and again.
