Sitting on Treetops MAG

By Anonymous

You and I sit on tattered treetops,
Burning beneath a sky so dim withhatred
It is unrecognizable.
We fade in and out of the earth'svision;
Closing like fetal roses
When the ground sighs and leavesscatter.
I want to shimmer like a rainbow fish,
But the sea is meltedinto
a shallow pool of gummy froth.
I want to feel everything aroundme
Light up with you and how
your fingers feel brushing against mine.
Iwish the world would stop screaming
And reaching out its broken hands
To beslapped on the knuckles.
I wish I could jump from tree to tree,
But I can'tmove
Because you won't look.
You won't look,
So our trees remain justtwo more
rotting shadows.
