Childhood
Childhood;
Lazy days spent in
the sun,
lying in grass with no
tainted thoughts
to ruin
tranquility.
Diving under covers
to hide from
thunder,
giggling because I know that
the thunder will
never find me.
Tears
able to be soothed
with a simple word
and mother's
loving touch.
Excitement,
welling up,
pleading for escape,
leading to
happiness,
uninhibited.
I fear,
childhood,
that your freedom
and your pure
emotions
have escaped me,
and that now
you shall only be
a longed for
memory.
