Being blind
Blindness fills us all.
Rotting our outward shell.
Hope we never gain our vision,
For what we'd see we could never understand.
We step on broken glass, never knowing.
Our feet never begging for mercy,
Used to the normal everyday ways
We drag ourselves to do things
That seem okay, to others.
Seeing not with our own two eyes,
We look into the eyes of everyone else
For guidelines and rules.
To know what we should do,
What we can not do.
We mash our brains,
Slamming our heads into bricks of confusion.
Hope we never gain consciousness,
For our forgotten ways of independence,
We could never again understand.
