The Heart is a funny thing
The heart is a funny thing.
Not hilarious,
But ironic.
That one you saw in the store,
He winked at you!
He was only blinking.
That one who caught your eye,
WOW he's HOT!
They're in a serious relationship.
That one you just..couldn't resist,
Your heart leaped infront of logic.
His didn't leap to yours.
Then comes that only one,
the one that said he loves you.
And he brakes that soft happiness.
The one that makes thi tummy twist,
You can't explain this awkwardness.
You run from that renewed feeling.
Here comes someone,
He gives you his heart.
You just can't give your's to him.
Another someone drops in,
Just some simple lust.
They slide, you let them slip away.
Here comes that only one again,
They miss you and want you back.
It was all just a lie.
By now you've seen a lot,
In love and hate you live.
But that is just not enough.
The one from the store,
He didn't just blink.
But now he's forgotten you.
That Hot guy in the relationship,
Is now totally single.
But you no longer find him datable.
That guy that heart beat logic on,
Is now pinning after you.
But he broke your friend's heart.
That old flame,
burns hotter when you see him.
It will never be put out.
The one you ran from,
You now regret.
He's become such greatness.
That old-turn down,
He's still single himself.
But he can't ever for-give you.
Then there's the guy you let slip,
You're glad you did.
You don't know what you saw in him.
The heart is a funny thing.
Not hilarious,
But ironic.
By now you've seen a lot,
In love and hate you've lived.
But that will never be enough.
