Coming Home on a Wintry Evening MAG

Hangdown ... pock-marked cement
Searching for bright copper pennies ...
Face up... unsullied air and crimson sun
They tell me to look down again
To noticethe pits, the stumbling blocks ...
Eager to impart hard-earned stores ofwisdom
To this stubborn mound of flesh ...
"Beware the pain that willcome ...
Experience life ... be open-minded"
Hearing thousands,listening to none
Go ... go ... pour your worldly wisdom
Upon morereceptive ears ...
An audience who would nod in agreement ...
"Youwill learn in time ... lose your naivete"
Leave me last innocence, laststupidity ...
Whatever you will it ... this stubborn mound of flesh
Willonly cast your precious baubles aside ...
Until you know what you preach...
Let alone this stubborn lump of earth ...
It knows not what you preach...
Leave me last belief, last hope ...
Let life do what it will...
Your pain belongs to you ...
Do not tell this stubborn blood
Whatpain will come ... that knows
Only crimson sun and unsullied air ...
Do notteach these stubborn tears
To live everyone else's happy ... that knowsonly
Walking on copper pennies
Pale under crimson sun and unsullied air...
Face up to the sky ...

and who is 'unknown'? Maybe that means you didn't write it but you don't know who did?.........

I really love this poem. It flows so well, and the style is interesting. I would also really appreciate if you checked out my work, like "True Colors" and "When the Storm Will Come"
