Songbirds in a Sunrise
I float atop the sea
on the crests of waves
that carry broken bodies
and suken souls,
ghosts snapping at my heels
imbibed in tainted persuasion
they try to swallow me
I scream for you from beneath the waves,
my oasis in the ocean rain
you walk on water, just to remind me
that you'll meet me
at the end of the bridge
and like songbirds in a sunrise,
we'll soar above the ashes
someday.
