The Storm
It’s raining out,
Storm clouds as far as the eye can see.
Lightning and thunder everywhere.
The wind whipping the trees.
I cower in my bedroom, waiting for it to pass.
When suddenly,
My door blasts open,
From the force of the storm blowing past.
I scream as the storm enters the room,
And realize that,
There is no hope for me.
Crying and screaming,
As the storm rages on
Shouting obscenities,
And pummeling me, left and right.
Then the storm leaves.
Its anger spent.
Hanging limply,
On the edge of consciousness
I feel someone pick me up.
Rescuing me from my fate.
They take me outside.
I see the face of my rescuer,
Before I die
