As Time Passes By
The hours, the days, the months, my love;
How quickly do they pass!
And without you I have to say,
I know not how I’d last.
You told me once, that day of old,
Of how much you would miss;
The smiles, the tears, the laughs, the love;
But I will tell you this:
I, my love, my one, my heart,
Have all the time to pay;
Through stars and tears and night and day,
My love, it will not stray.
So though I’m gone for now the least,
Please don’t give up too fast;
The day will come, alas, it will!
When I’ll be yours at last.
