Hear Me
She sits alone tonight
Overcome with guilt and strife
“It’s almost not worth it”
She says to the knife
Like one torn page, her life’s a broken book
Telling the heartbroken story
Waiting for someone to look
They are just passerbies
To scared to even know
The cracks begin to show
There’s a plastered smile on the lovely face
And a broken cry inside
Behind the mirrors and the lace
Lies one that’s changed, faked, and lied
“I’m not alright!” she screams
But they’re too occupied to care
“I’m not okay!” she cries
But all she gets are glares from jaded eyes
She runs till her toes can limp no more
And sits down
Time to shut down, time to shut down
She’s shaking cause its cold outside
She’s shaking cause there’s nothing inside
It’s too late to cry, it’s too late to die
She’s swimming in foul waters
Waiting for the slow, waiting for the slaughter
She walks what feels like alone
And none of them hear her groan
The freak, she cot what she deserved
And people like that, they’ll never understand
Too much pressure, too much demand
The happiness is gone
Emotionless is what she’ll take
Physical over emotional
At one point she’s gonna break
And now in the quiet alone
She tilts the knife up to her throat
“One more cut won’t hurt”
Then the telephone rings
The opportunity cut short
And there’s one more light
Because someone heard her cries tonight
