We Are Broken MAG
his sad eyes
uncover feelings i knew were there
that i had forgotten
his smiling face
i see so infrequently
perhaps those days are gone
forever?
his awful habits
pull him deeper and deeper
in
to that never-ending blackness
where i can't help him
his secret cries for help
only his voice is different now
no longer the carefree, flirtatious grin
that exists only in my mind and his
as a memory.
my awful longing
his awful longing
for his return
oh, how i want him back
from the blackness ...
my heart aches, and another heart joins it
it is his
but i can't rescue him
and so our hearts finally
tear
i have failed him.
