I procrastinate when I write this

because I don't know what to do

when the people smile

at the elephants that dance

to the sound of Mozart

blaring from my stereo speakers.

I procrastinate when I write this

because they just don't understand

the way I feel when I use a pen

that leaks over my buttered toast

as I watch the clocks change

in my brain as the balloon explodes.

I procrastinate when I write this

because sometimes I go insane

when i hear those voices that call

out my name and I pick up the phone

to hear a woman screeching

while a message finally goes off in my brain.
