Fifty Years Later MAG
Fifty Years Later
I am stuck
in blackness.
A realization
of these unfathomable
deaths.
6 million lives
destroyed ...
All because of
man's inhumanity to man.
All because of
insanity.
I cannot comprehend
the images
I see.
The desperate eyes,
the aging faces.
Cracked with suffrage
and sorrow.
Engrained somewhere ...
(perhaps in memory?)
My tear-stained cheeks
scream
and betray me.
I am tortured
by the past and
its factual nightmares.
To survive this obscenity;
how could one forget?
When life was abuse.
When fate was the end.
And hope,
hope was a teardrop.
