Sunday Morning Repast MAG
Sunday Morning Repast
The crows line up by the back door
and wait impatiently for breakfast.
Soon the chef will arrive
and serve the great meal.
Within fifteen minutes the rear door opens up,
and their breakfast comes flying out:
bits of stale bread,
month-old cereal,
a flock of leftover pancakes that hovers, twists,
and returns to the earth
to be gathered by the monks
in their black feather cloaks.
