Her Nose Ring
The girl sits on her bed at night, staring at nothing
She has a nose ring
To tell you the truth, she has everything
She wears her eyeliner, and sings to herself
She feels empty inside
The girl feels like she's not enough
She changed her beautiful brown curls
To straight black
Just to hear people say, "Look at her, look at that."
The girl doesn't feel happy in her own skin
She can only see what she lacks
The girl is changing
Into what she thinks everyone else wants
But everyone just wants her back
The girl sits on her bed at night, staring at nothing
She has a nose ring
To tell you the truth she has everything
She changed her look to become something's she's not
She's keeping herself less and less
They try to stop her
But she just keeps trying to impress
The girl has a family that loves her and people that care
But they're all shadowed under the darkness
It's reaching for her, whisperings words of happiness
Every word off it's tongue is a poison
That she can't help but drink
The girl sits on her bed at night, staring at nothing
She has a nose ring
To tell you the truth, she has everything
But the girl is losing it all so quickly
