True Beauty
First,
Second,
Third layer of foundation
First,
Second,
Third,
Forth brush of mascara
She buys all “healthy” make up
So she can feel confident when she’s made up
She heads down the stairs
And everyone smiles
She hasn’t felt this confident in a while.
She feels that make up is her only face
That with out it
She has no place, in this immense world.
Big blue eyes,
Long blonde hair,
Yet she still feels
She’s in great despair.
All her friends tell her
What she’s already heard before
“You’re are so beautiful”
“If that’s true, why can’t I walk out the door,
With out any makeup on?”
She doesn’t see
That natural beauty
That her boyfriend always wants to veiw
He tells her to take it all off
He wants to see her face
But she can’t do it,
Even though she loves him too,
So he shakes his head and walks away.
But something tugs at her heart
And she beings to cry
And as her mascara runs down her face
She decides to give it a try.
Off comes the foundation
Off comes the mascara
Alas, that fake face is peeled back
And he turns around to see
That girl he’s in love with
And all of her true beauty
