Many Faced Contortionist
All that’s left is the ghost of us
Tucked deeply in your sheets
Our warmth is seeping through the fibers
The cold night won’t let me sleep
I can’t lie I miss you already
I’d hate to think you were never here,
To think you just wrapped me in your bones,
To think you couldn’t make me care
I’d hate to think that I couldn’t charm you
With my decorated lies
But I believe them myself
It’s no preconceived disguise
I tell myself I’m not hungry
For food, for life, for love
I’m a many faced contortionist
A body of sin and lust.
