And The Music Played Again MAG
And the music played again.
It must have been the hundredth time.
"Stop!" he yelled, "Your timing's still off."
So the rehearsal tape was rewound,
And the music played again.
It commanded me to leap and turn;
To dance to its lead.
But its tempo was moody.
And the music played again.
"You're not counting," he said,
"You must feel the rhythm."
He stomped it on the floor.
And the music played again.
Its secrets discovered,
The once-foreign sounds
Fused with my movements.
And the music played again.
This time, not just from
The cassette player on the floor ,
It echoed from my body.
And the music played again
And again in my mind.
A background tune in my dreams ,
It had become my own.
