Heart or Soul

To my heart,
there is no begining,
no end.
Every time I try to love,
no matter how hard I try.
Still my heart doesn't grow or change.
My soul is deep,
my soul is wide,
it is full of regret and sin.
Nothing of joy or cheer,
just pain and fear.
Either heart or soul?
No matter if either is mine,
in any given amount of time.
