Vergessene Kinder (Forgotten Children)
Everyday we sit and wait.
Wondering if it was only fait,
Or just the Nazi's burning hate,
That sent us into hiding.
Little Jewish chrildren,
They have not yet been forgotten.
I will keep them in my heart,
In my home,
I do my part.
Their smiles are all works of art.
But frowns are all I see.
Everyday we live in fear,
But days go by,
And we're all still here.
I don't let the children see my tears,
For them I will stay strong.
I myself, a German girl,
Do my part to save the world.
Saving the children of tomorrow,
Replacing their pain and sorrow,
Protecting them from today's horrors.
I will keep them living.
