The Creek
The wind howls in my ears
And whips through my hair
I run fast
I run fast past the waking trees
The whole woods is awake, and alive
Birds call out in alarm
The water in the creek rushes past its endless bends
The creek is wide and very deep
But you stand on the opposite end
I jump in, in order to get to you
For I cannot swim so I sink
And I sink
As I sink I say goodbye
Not knowing when, if I will ever see you again
