The Campfire
Reaching for the the sky with my limbs,
My heat warms the hands that approach me.
My inferno blazes in the air until the darkness is consumed.
Smoke rises up to the heavens.
Smelling the burnt wood beneath me,
Sharp, wooden sticks stab at me.
Gooey marshmallows and hotdogs are engulfed in my sea of flames.
The smell of cooking meat has my stomach grumbling.
A marshmallow falls from the fork.
Tasting the sweet, sugary goodness,
Finally, my hunger is satisfied.
