In Memoriam
Rest now my dear friend,
for your journey’s at an end,
Taken quickly by the blade,
yet your spirit now pervades
In my soul and core to which I know you can never bend
Our bond now broken,
by that river that needs its token,
Seeking only to find
that one light that blinds,
Knowing that you lived among the heartless,
among those who have yet to hear my words spoken
The ocean of life now dried,
all seamless and with all the living now having died,
With all now dark with hate,
I see no balm for my sorrow – my friend being late,
Nothing knows what sorrow comes,
Knowing that I never even tried
Troubled hearts breed sorrow and anger,
but yet healing comes soon for the better,
For when we pass,
we go to God’s house at last
We meet there those we have lost,
and we can see the things we have lived for
