The Cold Winter Land
The Cold Winter Land
10-14-08
Snow topped mountains and snow covered fields,
Trees without their leaves, yet beautiful all the same.
Everything dead or asleep just to wake up in the spring.
Children build snowmen, igloos, and have snowball fights,
Go ice skating or take a moonlit hike.
The cold, icy breeze piercing your face,
But the warm morning sun melts it all away.
“All the fun is gone”, they say, but they better not cry because Santa comes tonight.
All the children snuggled up tight and warm,
And wake up to a beautiful Christmas morn.
But you must remember it is not all about Santa and toys;
Christmas is a holiday for Christians to recognize the birth of Jesus.
We give presents to represent how God gave us sinners His only Son.
So, though it may be cold and barren outside,
Be careful not to let your heart turn icy cold with greed, selfishness, and ungratefulness.
