A Pencil
Can an ordinary object relate to God?
How about a pencil?
It starts as a wooden rod until crafted to its shape.
The new pencil gets an eraser, its bold cape.
More finishing touches go into the beauty of it,
Like painting it, and a finishing coat of shellac.
You may be asking, how does this relate to God?
Well, before you are saved, we look like a useless board.
The Master finds us and begins crafting us,
However we shan’t meet perfection,
For only He can.
The knowledge we learn and deeds we do for Him,
Are our mighty capes we wear boldly.
When we get to Heaven, we finally will be perfect, with our coat of shellac.
