May Death Not Due Us Part
No one will ever forget you
You will always be missed
Your friends, your family
You will remain in our hearts.
I was nervous to see who would show up
Random people who I neglect to know
People wanting to do what is popular
If only that wasn't grieving for you.
I'm glad it was just us
Everyone who you touched
Everyone who actually cared
Everyone who still does.
People I have not talked to for years
Gathering all in one spot
To remember you in the best way that we can
Together.
I have not cried like that for years
It felt like the day you left all over again
Minus the numbness in my soul
Raw, shattered pain.
Take this bench as a token of our gratitude
For being a part of all of our lives
In sickness and health
Even if it was just for a little while.
Your memory lives on
May death not do us part
Forever in our hearts
I shall look up to you.
