Endurance
They set across the stormy sea
Praying for glory and luck
They did not know the terrible fee
They would pay when tragedy struck.
The icy barren wasteland
Was no home for sailor brave
But one stretched forth his hand
His comrades lives to save
The captain strong and true
Led through the winter night
Though all the winds that blew
Tore at him with their might
Not a single life was lost
For their captain never waived
Though lone and tempest tossed
It was by him that they were saved.
No one can measure the span
Or ever find the ends
Of the genuine love of a man
Who lays down his life for his friends
