The Modern City of Eden
City on fire
Midnight
So why is the sky
a polluted
rusty
orange?
Humanity’s graffiti picnic
has taken the skies
blocking stars
and any chance of wishing on them
We were given Eden
But somewhere along the way
something ruptured
Forbidden fruit eaten
Suddenly we knew
Pandora’s box opened
greed
hate
malice
darkness
No more green
Only
concrete where there used to be
laughter
Trippin on
broken dreams
there are still those of us
who
remember
paradise
