Happy Place
There is a place I like to go
It’s full of secrets and sheet white snow
There are smiles hidden behind trees
And frowns that nobody else sees
A house is built upon a hill
With shelves and shelves of books to fill
With poems and letters and stories
The home to all my memories
Pictures are pasted into scrapbooks
Each day, they are the ones to which I look
And take a smile from behind a tree
And let everyone in the world see
I am dancing always in this place
Smiling always in this space
Never reading between the lines
It’s all right there, no secret signs
There is more to this place than meets the eye
There is home here, a place to fly
There is more to the world than black and white
There are truths and lies and in between and dark and light
Always an in between
Most people see us as naughty teens
But they couldn’t be more wrong
They are the black and white and we are the gray where we belong
I am never going to be definite
There is a choice between no flame and flame lit
And I choose the flame
While you choose to be lame
So leave this place in the snow
Go be with the embers used-to-be, go
You’re never going to be flying
I’m ending your joyride into my town, all you were doing was spying
