I Am Smart and Funny
I am smart and funny
I wonder where this poem may lead me
I hear my grandpa calling me darling once more
I see my papa fishing for angelfish
I want to get a 3.5 GPA
I am smart and funny
I pretend that I’m a singer in a band when I’m in my room alone
I feel my grandpa’s warm hugs
I touch my papa’s mustache
I worry that my brother isn’t ready for a kid
I cry when I think about him
I am smart and funny
I understand that people die
I say try to live before you die
I dream that one day I will have my own book published
I try to be my self
I hope the troops will come home safely
I am smart and funny
