Inamorato
I want to talk to you my friend,
Instead of hurting you again.
And though my tears refuse to die,
I know that I need to try
To follow love, to follow grace,
To leave this world without a trace.
And what will happen in the end,
When this catastrophic trend,
Chooses a brand new path,
One without this fearful wrath?
Oh no, there's no way
That I can see the day
With your face all out of line
Its anything but benign.
Sitting on a white fence post,
Ignoring all our dreaded ghosts.
The laughter in your eyes
Is nothing short of the sunrise
On a mellow day
full of beautiful rays.
Oh the memories and tragedies
Forever turn to melodies
Its such a travesty...
And I feel like my pen won't stop again
Spilling ink about my paltry spin.
Will it ever stop?
Oh please don't let it stop...
My outlet of life's emotions,
Of all of my broken devotions,
Of every lie I've ever promised
Of every truth I've ever missed.
Acquainted with the dark,
In the light I often miss my mark...
Oh no, there's no way
That I can see the day
With your face all out of line
Its anything but benign.
My apology,
to humanity,
Oh brutality!
give me amnesty...
