High School Day One
The alarm sounds at the crack of dawn
Just five more minutes as I hit the snooze
Eyes half open, I begin to yawn
Will I be the one they choose?
Getting ready for school
I straighten my hair
Wear an outfit that I think is cool
Will they even care?
The bell rings after my fourth hour class
Just three more classes as I grab my lunch
Smiles and greetings as friends pass
Will I be part of “their” bunch?
Leaving after my day was complete
I think to my self, “I’m still alive!”
All I want to do is kick up my feet.
Will they let me survive?
