My Heart
When people ask
About my Grandmother
My face lights up and I say
“She is like my fun second mother”
But I know she was
Born in a time of segregation
Was she badly affected by this time
She came from
A family of love, not wealth
I know that she
Is a brave person
She left to become a more independent person
Who does what she has to do
Without loosing respect for herself and from others
She is a wonderful inspiration of my life
She is the reason that I want to become a doctor
She inspirers me in many ways
I love her with all of my heart
She understands me the most
She never judges when I do wrong
Because she can understand
What made her become this way
Who was she inspired by?
