REMEMBERING FEAR
I remember fearing death and losing a loved one
I remember the feeling of fear when I smelled the sweet putrid aroma of death
Scared and cautious, living as I must
But fear has left me and is no longer a faithful friend
That was the end
Of my life as a coward and loser
Though I miss my friend I will never forget
That it was I who killed
And he who died
I feel that fear should never have lied
Taken control of me with mental might
I was in his sights
From the very beginning
Though loving life I feared death
I killed fear
My faithful friend
I created his end
Hence over coming fear by killing fear
Thinking about it I would do it again
Also I would have to think of how old I had been
Would water and wind watch me wearily
From fire’s flame forgetting friends
Seeing Spirit’s sunlight shadows dance
Within my state of insanity
Worlds unturned
And unburned
Are better than home
Alone
I dream of a day when I can say
I walk with my friend
I walk with fear again
