Steel Trees
Steel trees contain me
Orange fire covers my body
Heavens light becomes a distant memory
Harder than stone I lay my head upon
Mind racing with cold hands and wet eyes
Clear walls separate me from loving arms like hells fire
Friends turn to enemies, enemies to friends
The shiver of cold fear never leaves
Eyes always with dry tears, forever changed
A world of sleepless nights, loves beauty murdered
Tick…Tick…Tick…like the sound of a dying heart
A life forever changed, a soul broken
From the inside looking out, a spirit fading away
Surrounded from all sides, yet seeing no one
Silence is who I talk to, loneliness’ arms hold me
Wishing for the past, scared of the future
Lost in an iron forest, knowing there is no escaping orange fire
